You have to, and so do I. I’m going to lecture you, but really, I’m lecturing myself, because out of the 4 must-do’s, this is where I fall short–testing my blood sugar. THIS is where I’m lazy. My body is really good at telling me when it goes low…I could probably make a fortune betting money on gauging my low readings.

We need to be educated about our bodies, especially when it comes to our diabetes. The more we know, the more power we have. And when you’re going to do something crazy like eat healthy AND exercise, your body can do some CRAZY things! It’s important to know what’s going on with your blood sugar so you can talk to your doctor about your medications. And of course, you should always talk to your doctor BEFORE you start a new program.

Be sure you keep your meter supplies well stocked, as well as have a stash of snacks/juice available to you in case of low blood sugar, especially around workouts. Being prepared helps keep you in control, and that makes you a Diva!
